Zach

Practice Manager

Zach has always believed that the world needs a little more compassion. He couldn’t think of a better place to focus that energy than in a veterinary hospital! His varied professional experience coupled with his lifelong passion for animal care made the veterinary field the perfect fit. Zach is proud to help pet parents and their furry companions as a member of the clinic’s front-desk team.

Zach grew up in Amsterdam, New York and first came to the Syracuse area to study at Le Moyne College. His professional background includes experience in fundraising, recruiting, and workers’ compensation, and when an opportunity arose for him to use his business and human resources experience in a veterinary setting, he jumped at the chance! Zach became a member of the Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital family in June of 2017 and hasn’t looked back since.

Zach’s favorite part of his work here at the clinic is the direct impact his efforts can have on pet owners and their companions. He loves being able to make each and every visitor to the hospital feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. Getting to meet and greet adorable pets every day is just the icing on the cake!

Away from work, Zach’s main hobby is exercising. He likes competing in triathlons and other races, including the local Mountain Goat race. So far, his greatest accomplishment has been completing the Ironman race in Chattanooga, Tennessee in the fall of 2018, a feat that involved 13 and a half hours of straight exercise!

Sarah

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Sarah is a pet owner herself. She knows how important our animal companions are, and she’s always wanted to do her part to help them live the best lives possible. That’s why Sarah decided to become a veterinary professional! She’s proud to serve pets and animal parents on a daily basis as a member of Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital’s Veterinary Technician team.

Sarah is from Chittenango and attended the State University of New York-Canton to earn her degree in veterinary technology. She graduated in 2012 and launched her animal-care journey at a one-doctor practice in Syracuse before moving to a bigger practice a few years later. When the time came to look for a smaller, family-oriented practice once again, Sarah was thrilled to come across an opening here at the clinic. She joined the Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital family in the fall of 2020 and hasn’t looked back since!

Medically, Sarah is fond of dental cleanings and loves seeing a dirty mouth become clean again. Above all, she likes to meet a wide variety of pet personalities every day and chat one-on-one with their loving owners.

Away from work, Sarah is an avid quilter and even runs her own small business making keepsakes. She and her husband have two wonderful daughters who always keep Sarah on her toes, and she also shares her life with several animal companions: Bleu, a German Shepherd who is trained in obedience and search and rescue; a pair of lovable cats who go by Mowgli and Thor; and a Lionhead rabbit named Frankie who is truly the boss of the house.

Stacia

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Stacia decided at a very young age that she wanted to work in the veterinary profession. Her passion for helping animals and their families has never waned over the years and was ultimately the driving force behind her decision to become a licensed veterinary technician. She is thrilled be living her lifelong dream.

Stacia graduated from SUNY Delhi in 2018, and shortly thereafter spent several years working in emergency veterinary medicine. She joined the Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital team in October 2022 and hasn’t looked back since. Professionally, she has a special interest in surgery and anesthesia.

At home, Stacia resides with her husband, two dogs – Winston and Finn, and two cats – Angus and Paisley. Finn is a hunting dog and Winston is a rescue dog turned couch potato. In her spare time, Stacia enjoys reading, running, and anything involving being outdoors.

Brielle

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Growing up on the family farm shaped most of who Brielle is today. She took to the dairy cows from a very young age, and always looked forward to morning milkings. Whenever the vet would come out to the barn, Brielle would watch in awe and dream of one day pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. By the time she was in middle school, Brielle had decided on becoming a vet tech, and today she is living that lifelong dream and loving every minute!

Following high school, Brielle attended college at Medaille in Buffalo, NY, where she obtained her associate’s degree in veterinary technology. After passing the VTNE, she stayed in NY for another year before moving to Texas. Five years later, while Brielle loved working as a vet tech, she found herself missing home, so she moved back to NY and recently joined the Fayetteville team. Clinically, she has a special interest in surgery.

At home, Brielle lives with her two pets: a dog named Juliet, and a cat named Gustavo. When she’s not busy working or playing with her fur-babies, you can usually find Brielle hiking or doing something else outdoors. She also loves to read and spend as much time with her family as she can.v

Mindy

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Mindy’s love for animals started in childhood, even though pets weren’t allowed at home. She lived vicariously through friends’ dogs, cats, and horses, always knowing she felt more at ease with animals than people. That love never faded. After earning her B.S. in Zoology from SUNY Oswego, she spent a year working in a veterinary clinic—and was hooked. She went on to complete her Veterinary Technician degree at SUNY Delhi.

When Mindy reconnected with Dr. Bunnell—a colleague from years past—she didn’t expect it would lead to her next career decision. In February 2025, she joined Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital, finding what she describes as not only a skilled team but the rare balance between meaningful work and personal well-being.

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with 24 years of experience, Mindy is known for her expertise with exotic animals and the delicate skill of venipuncture. She’s also passionate about mentoring others and finds joy in teaching new techs. Of course, for Mindy, nothing beats the calm of holding a purring kitten at the end of a long day.

At home, life is full—Mindy and her husband raise four kids and three musically named cats: Ozzy, Ringo, and Adele (Addie). Whether it’s on the soccer field or at a dance recital, she finds her greatest pride and joy in cheering on her family.

Mindy values collaboration and is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care in a team-oriented environment. Her calm demeanor, attention to detail, and commitment to her patients make her a perfect fit for Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital.

Ashley

Veterinary Assistant

Ashley grew up around everything from dogs and cats to horses and cattle. She’s spent her whole life working with animals, and always knew that a career in the veterinary world would suit her well. Now, Ashley gets to live her dream every single day—she’s a Veterinary Assistant with the Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital family!

Ashley grew up on a dairy farm in Chittenango, New York and first joined the Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital team in May of 2004 on the recommendation of fellow employees. She began as a Kennel Assistant, and is currently enrolled in classes at Penn Foster College in order to receive her official certification as a Veterinary Technician.

When she’s not here at the clinic helping pets to feel better, Ashley likes showing draft horses, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with her own animal companions at home. She has two dogs—Lilly the Silver Labrador and a Doberman named Khall—as well as a pair of loveable cats who go by Gary and Beans.

Stephanie

Veterinary Assistant

Stephanie grew up in Canastota, New York with her parents and younger brother, and felt an intrinsic connection with the earth’s creatures from a young age. She’s always suspected that she would love working alongside other pet-lovers in a place that valued the love and loyalty our animal friends give us. Stephanie has found just that here at Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital!

Stephanie became a member of the hospital’s front-desk team in 2009, and her favorite part of the job is talking with clients and interacting with their adorable pets. In her 10-plus years as a member of the hospital family, she’s found that no two days are ever quite the same!

In her time away from work, Stephanie likes reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Andrew, share their home with their two wonderful sons, Austin and Mason, as well as a pair of cats named Magic and Mittens.

Diane

Veterinary Assistant

The very first dog that Diane owned as an adult was only three weeks old when he was given to Diane. The pup had a few medical issues that needed to be addressed, and Diane found herself fascinated as she helped medicate and nurse the dog to full health. She quickly realized that she wanted to learn more! That’s why Diane decided to become a veterinary professional herself.

Originally from the Detroit, Michigan area, Diane began her animal-care journey by volunteering at an animal shelter. It wasn’t long before she was hired on as an employee. From there, Diane ventured into day practice, emergency care, and animal control work before joining the Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital family in August of 2017. Having previously worked with Dr. Bunnell, she was thrilled to join forces once again to provide the best possible care to the area’s pets!

When she’s not at work, Diane can be found curling up with a good book or enjoying the company of her own pets at home. She has two dogs—a Golden Retriever named Duke and a playful German Shepherd named Shelby—as well as three adorable cats named Yuki, Celery, and Pandora.

Sam

Veterinary Assistant

After a friend encouraged Sam to interview for a position at Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital, Sam obliged. The next thing she knew, she was joining the staff as a veterinary assistant and helping save the lives of animals!

Sam initially got her start in the veterinary world by volunteering at the local dog rescue. Spending time with the furry creatures made her realize just how much she loved being around animals. She would then go on to work at a doggy daycare, which was a rewarding experience in itself. Still, she wanted to help animals on a larger scale and in a more fulfilling way, and make an even bigger difference in their lives. Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital gives her the opportunity to do that.

As far as pets go, Sam’s best friend is her Jack Russell Terrier named Jake. Sam affectionately refers to the dog as “a little mountain goat,” because he has a knack for sniffing out trails, even when they’re not obvious.

In her free time, Sam enjoys art, baking and going mountain hiking with her dog. She used to be heavily involved in music, and still dabbles in various instruments.

Nicole

Veterinary Assistant

Since the day she was born, Nicole has been surrounded by animals. It wasn’t until she officially adopted a dog of her very own, however, that she decided she wanted to make caring for animals a career. As a Veterinary Assistant at Fayetteville, Nicole gets to live her dream every day!

Prior to joining the Fayetteville team, Nicole was working in the restaurant industry. While the tips were certainly nice, she knew it wasn’t what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. After applying with several nearby clinics and not getting any bites, she decided it was time to step outside of her comfort zone and go back to school.

As she works toward her Veterinary Technician degree, Nicole enjoys being able to meet all the different breeds of animals – especially exotics – and learning how to better support our clients and their pets.

Outside of work, Nicole is ‘Mom’ to a Bernese mountain dog named Jax, who loves to greet her when with shoes, toys or anything else he can find. In addition to giving hugs on command, Jax enjoys carrying shoes around in his mouth and tossing boxes around the house.

In her spare time, Nicole enjoys snowboarding, reading, wine tasting, running and spending time with Jax. She is currently enrolled at Penn Foster for her Vet Tech degree.

Luke

Veterinary Assistant

Long before Luke ever stepped into a clinic, he was learning an important lesson in care and responsibility at home in Syracuse, New York. Growing up surrounded by animals, he saw how deeply pets depend on the people who love them and how proper care can shape their comfort, health, and happiness. Those early experiences planted a quiet sense of purpose in him. For Luke, the draw wasn’t just animals themselves, but the trust they place in humans to do right by them.

That sense of purpose guided him into his first role as a veterinary assistant with a traveling clinic, where each day brought new locations, new patients, and new opportunities to learn. What stood out most wasn’t just the hands-on work, but the veterinarians he worked alongside. Their patience, kindness, and eagerness to teach showed Luke that veterinary medicine is built on collaboration and mentorship. Being welcomed into that learning environment confirmed that this was the field where he belonged.

In January of 2025, Luke joined Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital, drawn to the stability of consistent hours and the chance to work with the same team every day. As a veterinary assistant, he thrives in an environment where relationships matter. He especially loves seeing the moment when a pet returns to their family feeling better and watching a client’s worry turn into relief. Just as meaningful to him is the camaraderie of the clinic, reconnecting with coworkers and sharing in both the busy and rewarding moments of each day.

Outside of work, Luke enjoys traveling with his wife as they work toward visiting every Major League Baseball stadium in North America. Whether in the clinic or on the road, Luke brings curiosity, dedication, and genuine care to everything he does, making him a valued part of the Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital team.

Bonnie M.

Veterinary Assistant / Client Care Representative

Bonnie served as a high school English teacher for 32 fulfilling years before deciding to retire and embark on a new journey. She’d always had a soft spot for pets, so she decided to take a leap of faith. Bonnie couldn’t be happier with her choice! She’s proud to serve as a part of Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital’s compassionate kennel staff.

Bonnie was born in Morristown, New Jersey but moved to Fayetteville at the age of two. She’s been here ever since! After her years of teaching, Bonnie joined the Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital team in September of 2018 and makes it her mission to help each and every boarding visitor to the clinic feel welcomed and comfortable. She doesn’t stop there, though—Bonnie is currently enrolled in online classes to become a Veterinary Technician and help pets in an even more hands-on way!

When she has time between her coursework and her duties here at the clinic, Bonnie likes making art and giving her time to the Long Island Bulldog Rescue. At home, she and her husband, Tim, enjoy the company of many pets of their own. They have three rescued English Bulldogs—Daisy, Brenda, and Wally—as well as a pug named Lene, all four of whom love donuts. Bonnie and her husband also share their lives with an African Gray parrot named Modoc, a Cockatoo who goes by Hi, Boris the rabbit, a turtle named Max, four chickens, and several goldfish.

Emma

Veterinary Assistant / Client Care Representative

Emma grew up surrounded by pets. As a result, she naturally developed a deep connection with animals. This, coupled with her lifelong fascination with biology, made a career in the veterinary industry a logical choice. As a Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant here at Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital, Emma gets to combine her curiosity for science with her love of animals and goal of helping others. It’s a win-win!

Emma joined the Fayetteville team in May of 2021, as a high school student. Her goal is to one day attend veterinary school. Professionally, she enjoys assisting with puppy/kitten wellness exams – particularly ear cleanings. She loves seeing how clean a patient’s ear can get and how relieved they must feel afterwards.

Outside of work, Emma lives with her parents and brother. The family has several pets, including a dog named Opal, who loves to go running with Emma; a cat named Holly, who seems to think she’s a dog; and a furry bunny named Oscar who loves to jump around the room.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys running, mountain biking, reading, and crocheting – a hobby she picked up during the pandemic. With Opal as her training partner, she hopes to continue running cross country when she goes to college.

Pam

Client Care Representative

Before she was an employee here at Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital, Pam was a client. She brought her own beloved dog in to see Dr. Bunnell, and the care, compassion, and kindness she received during her visits made a permanent impression. Pam knew that she wanted to give the same kind of service to other pet owners, so she took a chance and applied for a job! Now, she’s a proud member of the front-desk team.

Pam is originally from New Jersey but grew up in Central New York. She worked in the property and casualty insurance field for many years until retiring in the fall of 2018. It wasn’t long before she had accepted a job offer here at Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital! Pam particularly enjoys meeting a wide variety of pets and owners, and she makes it her mission to help every visitor—whether they have four legs or just two—comfortable during their time here at the clinic.

When time permits away from work, Pam likes decorating her home, spending time outdoors, gardening, and going for walks with her silly beagle puppy, Lucy, who never fails to put a smile on Pam’s face. She also enjoys spending time with her daughter, Katie, who lives outside of Boston with her husband, dog, and two cats.

Liz

Client Care Representative

When Liz was working at a sanctuary in Washington State, a dog named Fred arrived at the facility in need of much care. Over lunches, late night treatments, and daily snuggles, Liz and Fred built an indelible bond. When he returned for a visit. Liz sat on the floor, Fred placed his head on her chest, and they shared one last cuddle together. It was at that moment Liz knew working with animals was her calling.

Prior to joining the Fayetteville Veterinary Hospital team, Liz worked for Trupanion, which offered volunteer hours at a local sanctuary. She also spent some time at another sanctuary in California before moving back to the Syracuse area to be closer to family. Liz applied for the receptionist position here at Fayetteville and officially came aboard in October 2022.

At home, Liz is a fur-mom to a dog named Daisy and three cats: Maggie, Millie Pickles, and Munster. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and traveling. Her biggest adventure to date has been driving cross country on her own with her dog Duke as her co-pilot.
